Clash of Bands - Participation Guidelines

The Clash of Bands is an exhilarating team event that unites exceptionally talented and passionate young musicians. This dynamic competition transcends mere musical display; it serves as a vibrant celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the unifying essence of music.

Team Composition

  • Each band must include minimum 6 and maximum 8 members (including instrumentalists).
  • Learners must be from Grades VII–XII of the same school.
  • Teachers are not allowed to participate.
  • Multiple bands from the same school may register.

Genre

  • Allowed: Blues, Jazz, Classic Rock
  • Not allowed: Bollywood songs or pre-recorded audio tracks.

Registration

  • All interested learners must first register for YLS to access the two-day summit.
  • Registration fee: INR 3,000 per learner (non-refundable).
Registration Deadline: Thuesday, 30st September 2025

Preliminary Round

  • Each team must submit a 2-minute video performance on the theme: “Resilience in the Face of Adversity”.
  • Video submission email: clashofbands2025@lynkube.com

Finalists

The same performance will be presented if shortlisted.
  • 10 bands will be selected for the final round.
  • Bands must bring their own guitars and keyboards.

Host school will provide

  • Drum kit
  • 1 guitar amp
  • 1 bass amp
  • Keyboard
  • 4 cables
  • 4 microphones

Schools must inform the host school in advance of any specific technical or AV requirements.

Competition Day Rules

  • Performance Duration: Maximum 4 minutes and Minimum 3 minutes
  • Set up duration: 4 minutes
  • Lyrics must be clean, respectful, and school-appropriate.

Announcement of Winners

  • Top three winners will be declared on Day 2 of the Summit.
  • All participating teams will receive a Young Leaders Summit Participation Certificate.

Competition Dress Code

  • Participants are advised to dress according to their music theme, while ensuring that attire remains appropriate for a school setting.
